Common and John Legend spoke about voting rights and incarceration after winning Best Original Song for "Glory" for Selma. "'Selma' is now because the struggle for justice is now," Legend said. "We know that the voting rights that they fought for 50 years ago is being compromised in this country today." He also said there are "more black men under correctional control today than were in slavery." The speech, and their performance of the song, left the Dolby Theater speechless and sparked a response on Twitter. http://ift.tt/1zz2uEF http://ift.tt/1JC8zKw http://ift.tt/1zz2uEH http://ift.tt/1BaemTV http://ift.tt/1JC8zKy http://ift.tt/1BDMbMy http://ift.tt/1zz2uEJ http://ift.tt/1Dcf7sY
